New enhancements in the Release 4.2.1 from 1st March, 2012 ...
TABEX/4 functions for data transfer, copying and moving, importing and exporting and other tasks permit the unlimited distribution of table data in heterogeneous IT environments. Thus table data are available system wide for all IT procedures and for any other application.
Tables can be copied and moved within the database or across databases.
By using TABEX/4 utility functions, data may be transferred between different data sources (e.g., TABEX tables, tables from relational data bases, sequential files). All combinations of source and destination are supported.
Many TABEX/4 customers use MS EXCEL and other programs for diagram generation, statistical analysis, presentations and reports, so there is a need to manage table data outside of databases.
With TABEX/4 this can be easily done.
The export of tables or the active table maintenance area enables the transfer of table data from databases into other applications, e.g. MS EXCEL, in order to edit them onward.
It is also possible to import changed data from MS EXCEL or other programs to TABEX/4 (again). The imported data can either replace the whole table or they can be added to the existing data. When the table is saved the imported data will be checked (check tables, RI checks, etc.).
Table data and table selections can be exported as TEXT or PDF documents.
The TABEX/4 Mail Program Interface enables sending of generated PDF or CSV files, logs of batch programs or any other data attached to e-mails.
Automatic replication synchronizes databases and data spaces across platforms.
Advantages of the automatic replication:
