Maintenance types for tables in relational databases

Direct maintenance of a single row through row selection

Each user selects just one row of a table. Thus, multiple users can maintain different rows on one table concurrently.

Maintenance with release procedure

When maintaining tables with release procedure, the changed data are buffered in a TABEX modification database.

After successful review of data changes by a second user, the corresponding tables are transferred to the RDB and deleted from the TABEX modification database.

Maintenance using SQLT table with or without release procedure

During table maintainance, TABEX tables with SQL connection (so-called SQLT tables) are attached with data of a relational database using an SQL SELECT statement.

The result of the SELECT statement is dynamically loaded from the relational database, if the table is empty when loading from the TABEX database.
