Rules for defining table names

Procedure

In TABEX/3 it was possible to define rules for the allocation of table names by the exit CHECKNAME. In TABEX/4 you must define a check table instead.

To create the check table the following steps are necessary:

  • Enter the check table with function administration/application/general settings/check table
  • Create the check table in the database TABCNT with the TABEX/4 Console or with the functions
    • TABEX database/new/copy table and
    • TABEX database/manage/edit without data checks
  • The table name must be specified as a field TI_TABLE, the version date as TI_FROMDAT and version information as TI_INFO.

Example
  • define check table in control table

control table: $TAB4PT001
check table: prftab

'prftab' is a name for the check table.

  • simple example for the check table:

CNTFIELD

CNTOP
