How to parameterize the web application with the Deployment Cockpit

The Deployment Cockpit

We implemented a comfortable graphical user interface (deployment cockpit) for definition and parametrization of TABEX server connections.

For this purpose the web application file provided by BOI (file with extension WAR or EAR) is loaded.

Pressing the button "connection settings" displays a server selection list. The server selection list lists all TABEX servers which are displayed on the log-in screen "Sign in here".

The parameters of the server connections are grouped by connection.

You can set the following parameters for each TABEX server:

  • Monitor settings (host, port, timeout, ...)
  • Debug settings (debug and trace level,  log path, ...)
  • Layout settings (scroll bar, ..)
  • RACF monitor settings (host, port, timeout, ...)

To save time, you may define default values. These default values will be used whenever values are not changed.

The server connections can be assigned to groups. These assignments are displayed in a matrix. The same server connection might be assigned to several groups.

It is possible to store the definitions during the session. Later definitions can be undone within the active session.

If the configuration is finished, a new web application file (WAR/EAR) will automatically be produced and can be deployed to the application server.
