Export and reorganization of the callserver protocol data

Overview

BOI has created a new, comfortable process for the export of callserver protocol data and for the date-controlled cleanup and reorganization of the callserver protocol database.

BOI provides this process as batch job templates. There is a separate template for each supported operating system. Each template has to be configured with the current file directories, as these directories depend on the installation.

These batch jobs must be executed for each callserver protocol database.

If there are several callserver protocol databases, the batch jobs have to be adapted for each protocol database. Please note: For different protocol databases different names and directories of the files must be used.

Process for export and reorganization of the callserver protocol data

Job CPEXPORT: Export the callserver protocol data

This job includes the following steps:

  1. Export all entries of the callserver protocol database in CVS format
  2. Generation of a REO file with all entries of the callserver protocol database
  3. only in the z/OS template: FTP step to transfer the files. If you perform the FTP step manually, please do not forget to transfer the REO file in binary form! On  Unix, Linux, Solaris and Windows the FTP step has to be carried out manually, since there is a variety of ways to transfer data from TABEX server to Windows (ftp, network directory, …). Please note: the REO file must be transferred in binary form.

The callserver protocol databases must have sufficient space for all protocolling callservers for 3 years each. Effectively, these are 500*3=1500 records á 8185 bytes per callserver.

Send REO files to BOI

Please send the generated REO files of all callserver for the callserver report in a zip file via email to support@boi.at.

If the zip file exceeds 10 MB (ths is the limit of our email server), please split the files using zipping into parts and send the split files in separate emails. If you have any questions, please contact support@boi.at.

Callserver report

Based on the sent data BOI creates a callserver report for the last maintenance year. This is used for all TABEX/4 Java Access customers as basis for calculating the maintenance fee for the next maintenance year.

Job CPREORG: Reorganize the callserver protocol database

For each call server this job is only be executed when the sent protocol databases have been evaluated by BOI and the callserver report has been successfully executed.

With this job, the callserver protocol database is reorganized. Protocol entries older than 2 years are deleted. Only the entries of the last 2 years are kept.

Method:

  1. Stop callserver befor executing this job
  2. Execute CPREORG
  3. Restart callserver
z/OS: Detailed description

Installation

  1. Import JCL files CPEXPORT and CPREORG into TABEX/4 SAMPLE library.
  2. An enhanced version of the SSL program $TABX4CPR must be imported to execute CPEXPORT.

Forersionen 4.3.0, 4.4.0 and 4.5.0 the archives

  • XCPR-INTMOD-T4V430.zip,
  • XCPR-INTMOD-T4V440.zip und
  • XCPR-INTMOD-T4V450.zip

are available, which contain a TABEX REO file and a readme.txt with instructions.

Job CPEXPORT

This job needs to be adapted for each callserver to avoid that files are overwritten.

In this job file you have to adapt:

  1. DSN of the callserver protocol database (CPTDB)
  2. DSN of the result CSV file(CPEXPF)
  3. DSN of the result REO file (TABSAV)
  4. Login information for FTP: host, username and password
  5. remote CSV source file for FTP
  6. local CSV target file for FTP
  7. remote REO source file for FTP
  8. local REO target file for FTP

After execution of this batch job the following files exist locally:

  1. CSV file with exported callserver protocol data
  2. REO file of the callserver protocol database

Send REO files to BOI

Send the generated REO files as zip files to BOI as described above 'Send REO files to BOI'

Job CPREORG

For each callserver this job should be executed when the exported callserver protocol data are sent to BOI, evaluated by BOI and the callserver report has been generated by BOI.

This job must be adapted and executed for each callserver, so that all callserver protocol databases are cleaned up and reorganized.

In this job you have to adapt:

  1. DSN of the callserver protocol database (CPTDB)
  2. DSN of the REO file (CPREORG)

Before you run this job, the callserver must be stopped. After this job the callserver must be restarted:

  1. Stop callserver before executing the job
  2. Run CPREORG
  3. Restart callserver
Linux, AIX, Solaris: Detailed description

Installation

  1. Import script cpexport in binary form into TABEX directory ‘bat‘
  2. Import cpexport.jcl for utility execution into TABEX directory ‘jcl‘
  3. Import file CPexport.inp (contains the appropriate utility commands) into TABEX directory ‘work‘
  4. Import script cpreorg into TABEX directory ‘bat‘
  5. Import cpreorg.jcl for utility execution into TABEX directory ‘jcl‘
  6. Import file CPreorg.inp (contains the appropriate utility commands) into TABEX directory ‘work‘
  7. For execution of cpexport an enhanced version of the SSL program $TABX4CPR has to be imported.

For versions 4.3.0, 4.40 and 4.5.0 the archives

  • XCPR-INTMOD-T4V430.zip,
  • XCPR-INTMOD-T4V440.zip and
  • XCPR-INTMOD-T4V450.zip

are available which contain a TABEX REO file and a readme.txt with installation instructions.

Script cpexport

This script needs to be adapted for each callserver to avoid that files are overwritten.

In this script you have to adapt:

  1. Path and filename of the callserver protocol databasee (BOICPDB)
  2. Path and filename of the result CSV file (CPEXPFILE)
  3. Path and filename of the result REO file (CPREOFILE)

After execution of this script the following files exist:

  1. CSV file with exported callserver protocol data
  2. REO file of the callserver protocol database

Contrary to z/OS no automatic FTP is started which transfers the files to the local computer.

The CSV file can be transferred in text mode via FTP to the local computer or can be accessed via a network drive.

The REO file must be transferred with FTP in binary mode to the local computer or can be accessed via a network drive.

Send REO files to BOI

Send the generated REO files as zip files to BOI as described above 'Send REO files to BOI' (in parts with max. 10 MBs)

This script must be adapted and executed for each callserver, so that all callserver protocol databases are cleaned up and reorganized.

In this script you have to adapt:

  • Path and filename of the callserver protocol database(BOICPDB)

Before you run this script, the callserver must be stopped. After execution of this script the callserver must be restarted.
