BOI Newsletter 01/2023

Time to say good bye to our Newsletter! We bid farewell to the old and make way for the new!

Dear Sir or Madam,

for 14 years, we have been informing you twice a year about news from BOI, be it about our product development or internal information on all topics that are important to us at BOI in addition to our software. But now let us say goodbye to this way of information.

From now on, we will provide you with the most up-to-date information in the following ways:

The last edition of our newsletter is about:

A new table index, new archiving options, a new utility, and a new option for login with SSO.

New features for data maintenance, enhanced security, and upgraded connection to customer systems.

We have taken an important step towards climate neutrality with BOI.

As always, we hope there are interesting topics for you. On behalf of the entire BOI team, I would like to thank you very much for your - often long-lasting - interest in our newsletter.

I hope you enjoy reading, and I look forward to continuing to be in contact with you via one or another channel!

Best regards from Linz,

Daniele Haiböck-Sinner

TABEX4 Release 5.5.0

There are the following new developments for the new release:

Table index across several databases

You now have the possibility to configure menu items where an index consisting of the table versions of several databases is offered. From this index, tables can be selected for display. As with 'display table', it is possible to compare with other table versions - also from other databases. The databases, from whose table versions the mixed table index is built, can be specified by the administrator for each menu item through entries in a control table.

Direct login with active Single Sign-On:

If Single Sign-On is activated, you can now also perform a regular login with username and password. When reloging, the chosen login procedure (with or without SSO) is taken into account.

Archive for TABEX Tables in relational databases:

You can now archive TABEX tables in a relational database. The archive consists of two tables in the relational database. Two new menu items in the Table Manager will display or reactivate tables from this archive.

Utility procedure for error handling:

You now have the option to specify a utility procedure that will be called automatically when the utility aborts due to an error. This allows you to perform cleanups such as unlocking table locks before exiting the utility.

TABEX4 Release 5.5.0 will be released on 01-31-2023
