HOW IT ALL BEGAN
HISTORY & MILESTONES
Our company’s history is shaped by continuous growth and innovation. Here, we’ve summarized the key milestones in our development so far.
1979
Founding
Dr. Hans Haiböck establishes BOI as a “Consulting company for operations research and information processing” in Linz.
1985
BOI Expands – we move to more green
The company relocates to Spazgasse in Urfahr.
1990
TABEX2 released
The second generation of TABEX, featuring ESA data rooms and RDB connectivity, is launched.
1993
Expansion of headquarters
BOI continues to grow and rents a second building on Spazenhofstraße.
2004
25 years of BOI
We celebrate 25 years of BOI together with our customers.
2014
Handover of management
Mag. Daniele Haiböck-Sinner takes over the management of BOI.
2015
TABEX4 JTC released
The product Java Table Cache for fastest table access is launched within the TABEX family.
2017
JTC released
A new product family is launched – JTC guarantees the world’s fastest table access.
2019
40 years of BOI
BOI celebrates 40 years with all employees and their families.
2020
BOI FreeDa released
Our product portfolio grows: BOI FreeDa is launched as an RDB maintenance tool.
2023
Handover of management
Dr. Frank Sinner takes over the management of BOI.
2024
BOI FreeDa Staging released
Das erste Add-On zu BOI FreeDa zum Tabellenstaging erscheint.

We believe that responsible business practices go hand in hand with social commitment and environmental actions. Sustainability is a core component of our corporate philosophy.
Commitment
For over 10 years, we have been donating 10% of our annual profit to social and environmental organizations.
Sustainability Goals
We are consistently reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. Our goal is to emit a maximum of 1 tonne of CO₂e per full-time equivalent starting in 2026.
