BGF – Workplace health promotion
When employees thrive, so does the company!
Health and motivation in the workplace are especially important to us at BOI. We firmly believe: When our employees feel good, our company works well.
Back in 2020, we launched a comprehensive workplace health promotion initiative with the aim of actively improving physical and mental well-being. Since 2022, we have proudly held the official BGF quality seal — an honor that has been renewed for the period 2025–2027.
Individual employee well-being as the foundation for long-term business success
Workplace health promotion (BGF) is a modern corporate strategy that helps companies implement health-promoting measures. Not only do employees benefit – the entire organization does. Healthy, satisfied employees are more efficient, more motivated, and ultimately more successful. Stress-related absences, inattention, or even workplace accidents can be reduced or completely avoided.
At BOI, we believe this is an opportunity that should not be missed. Not only because, as a socially committed company, we naturally care about those around us — but also because change and improvement always start with oneself. We are leading by example!
What does this mean in practice?
Our initiatives – working together
for greater well-being
- Public transportation ticket: We cover the cost of public transportation for our employees.
- Open bookcase: Our open bookcase invites everyone to share and exchange books and articles.
- Employee of the month: A small gift of appreciation with a big impact – the selected person receives a card with personal messages from the team or a Polaroid photo as a lovely memory.
- Outdoor meetings: When the sun is shining, we take our meetings outside – fresh air for fresh ideas!
- Annual team training: Whether it’s a high ropes course, bread baking workshop, or bike tour – we grow together through exciting activities.
- Healthy snacks: Organic fruit and fresh organic juices are available daily to give you a vitamin boost.
- Holiday spirit: During Advent, we visit the Christmas market together.
- BOI Summer BBQ: In summer, we celebrate with our families and enjoy a barbecue.
- Annual release celebration: Instead of a traditional Christmas party, we celebrate our annual software releases in February with a joint dinner.
- Giving time: At the release celebration, two team members are randomly paired and spend some quality time together during the year.
Every year, BOI donates €500 based on employee-submitted ideas. The team can suggest and vote on which organization the donation goes to!
