BOI goes net zero – a big step has been taken!

For more than 45 years, our family-owned company BOI has stood for responsible business practices. For us, software development, social commitment, and ecological action are inseparably linked.

For the past 15 years, we have been implementing measures to make our operations as environmentally friendly as possible. Now, we are setting ourselves even bigger goals:

• From 2026, we aim to emit no more than 1 ton of CO₂e per employee.
• We will offset unavoidable residual emissions through permanent CO₂ removal.
• This way, we will achieve net zero – our business activities will leave no trace in the atmosphere.

We have reached a major milestone: One year ago, we published our first corporate carbon footprint along with an action plan containing concrete measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Our current progress report shows:

• Total emissions 2024: 13.68 t CO₂e → 28% less than 2023
• Per full-time equivalent: 0.77 t CO₂e less → 39% reduction compared to 2023

Our vision is a world where climate protection is part of every company. BOI wants to set a good example and inspire others to take similar steps.
